On the 9th, Gracie had Field Day at school. She had a lot of fun, of course. I didn't get to watch her do a lot because I was helping at a specific station but was able to get a few pictures.
Last weekend, we traveled to Dallas for Gracie to participate in LTC (Leadership Training for Christ). We had a really fun time, and Gracie did well. We are thankful to our church's LTC coordinator and her coaches for all the time & effort
they put into getting the kids at church ready. Gracie participated in Bible Bowl, scrapbook, Children's Book, and drama. She got a "gold" in team & individual Bible Bowl, Children's Book, & drama and a "silver" in scrapbook. We are proud of her!
We were excited to get to meet our good friends,
Bret & Krista, and their kids for lunch once we got to Dallas. They were also participating in LTC but at a different hotel, so we met for lunch beforehand. We always love to spend time with them! Another wonderful thing was meeting my
"blogger friend," Elizabeth! She & I have been friends via blogging for 3-4 years, and it was so neat to meet her in person! We spent one night in the hotel for LTC and then went over
to Burleson to spend Saturday night with Chris's brother & his family and were able to attend church with them on Easter. The girls had fun playing with their cousin, Sara Jane, and we were thrilled to see some "old" friends from Uvalde. Bob & Kathy were 'surrogate grandparents' to Gracie when she was first born, and they hadn't seen her since 2001! I hadn't seen them since then either, although Chris had seen them once. They have grandbabies of their own now (twins!) who go to the same church as Chris's brother's family, and we were so excited that they were there that weekend!
On the way to Dallas, we kept seeing beautiful fields of bluebonnets, so we stopped to take some more pictures. They are so pretty! Ellie wasn't exactly thrilled with being plopped down on the ground for yet more pictures, but she managed to give a few smiles.
We had TONS of rain yesterday during which our street & yard started flooding!
We were a bit nervous about it getting into the house, but it soon started draining thankfully. We enjoyed a birthday party last night then spent today at church and relaxing.
Ellie turned 10 months old on Friday. How time flies! She has a 3rd tooth-her top middle right one. She started what I would call really crawling yesterday. She had done it a little bit earlier but was doing it with much more consistency yesterday. She has started a habit of squealing (some might call it screaming) in the car. :( It's getting better! :) She loves to sit and look out the windows in the living room. She is eating lots of table food. She is a total & complete joy!

We had Kindergarten Orientation for Katie. *sniff sniff* This was hard on me. Sending her to K will be hard on me. I think she will do great....after an initial couple of meltdowns. Seriously, I think she will have a hard time for a day or two, but eventually she will love it and do great. After some problems getting her shot records straightened out (miscommunication b/w her Aiken doctor & her doctor here) we got her registered, so she is good to go come this August.
The girls were introduced to "cascarones"-eggs filled with confetti that you crack on people's heads. They enjoyed those!
