Christmas 2012

Christmas 2012 brought Grammer & Pappy from Atlanta, so the girls were excited!

They arrived Thursday, so they got to be there for school pick-up on Friday!

Ellie & Grammer enjoyed a nap together.

Friday evening, we headed to eat a place called Niko Niko's, which is a good Greek place.  We then went to the Houston Zoo for Zoo Lights!
It was perfect weather.  Cool enough for a jacket, but not so cold to be miserable.

Saturday morning, we had a hasbrown casserole, Orange Walnut Sunrise Coffee Cake, Grammer's yummy fruit cake, and fruit.
We spent a large part of the morning baking.

Saturday evening, the girls headed out to a local production of The Nutcracker.  One of Katie's best friends was performing in it!

Katie's friend was beautiful and did a beautiful job!

Sunday morning before church!

We had a festive Christmas Eve breakfast!

Pappy declared Christmas Eve to be "PLAD Day," Pappy-Look-Alike-Day!
It was beautiful weather, so we spent time at the playground!

Watching a movie...or snoozing?
Chris made Christmas Eve dinner...flat enchiladas, New Mexico style!  Yum!

The girls each open 1 gift on Christmas Eve...new pj's!

Ballet pj's for Ellie, Sock Monkey pj's for Katie, and One Direction pj's for Gracie (she wanted to be cropped out...but she loves the pj's...just didn't want a public picture of them!  LOL)

Katie read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas for us...complete with dramatics!

We got to Skype with Gramps & Gramme, and Uncle Mike & family

 Cookies & milk for Santa!

Katie is so sweet to wrap things for us & make things for us for Christmas!

Gracie drew a picture of a coon dog for Pappy.  My grandfather was a raccoon hunter in Kentucky, so I grew up with MawMaw & Granddad having pens of coon dogs in the backyard!
She drew a picture of a bird for Grammer.
a blessed mess!

After breakfast of Gorilla Bread & Breakfast Casserole, we enjoyed snacks before dinner.

hot chocolate!

Christmas Dinner:  Boston Butt, mashed potatoes, lima beans, corn (with cream, garlic, red pepper, etc.!), deviled eggs, rolls...yum!

Mom made a yummy Raspberry Filled Coconut Cake.
The cold front hit...yea!

Sweet Katie made me a handmade diet Coke can!

Thursday, Katie & Ellie opened the Princess Cafe, where they cooked & served us!

On the way to the airport...one last picture.  No tears this time!!!!!

It was a good Christmas!
