Fall pictures

One of our friends took some "Fall" pictures of the girls on Saturday. As usual, I think he did a great job! Of course, I may be a bit biased seeing as how they are my girls. At first, I didn't like the ones of Gracie as much just because she looked so old and grown up. However, the more I look at them the more I like them! I do think I'll have her wear a bow or headband or something for Christmas pictures because I think that will add a bit of "little girl" back to her look, without making her look too little. She has entered the phase of not wanting to wear bows as often. *sigh* She is growing up!

I have already "hired" our friend to take their Christmas pictures. I can't wait to have them done. Of course, I have to find something for them to wear first!

Today has not turned into the day I was expecting it to be. With it being election day, Gracie didn't have school. When I was teaching, we just had to keep the kids quiet while walking around campus, but apparently now the schools are closed, which is fine with me. We were planning to attend a "playgroup reunion" of sorts. With Gracie being in school, along with some of the other older children who used to attend all the time, one of my friends thought it would be fun to get together to play like we used to. I thought it was a great idea. Chris had a meeting at church tonight but I was planning to take Gracie to Hunter's house and Mary Beth and Katie & I were going to head to a local Christmas craft etc. show.

When Katie started throwing up last night around 2:30 a.m., I knew these plans were altered. Needless to say, today turned into pretty much a "pajama day." Katie only threw up twice during the night but has kept fever pretty much all day except for the few hours surrounding Motrin. Tonight when I gave her Motrin I'm not even sure it has helped. She has basically laid on me for the last couple of hours. Now that Chris is home from his meeting, he is taking a turn. (If he hadn't had his meeting, he would have stayed with the girls while I went to the craft show.) Her little eyes just look so droopy & sick. She had times during the day when she & Gracie played and she seemed to feel fine but now that the nighttime has come, the fever & lethargy are back.

Tomorrow's plans are changed as well. Not only is tomorrow her day to go to MDO and me to go help in Gracie's class, but Chris is going up to the school to make a geography presentation to all of the 1st grade classes as well. Mary Beth was going to watch Katie for me so I could go help him set up and watch him do his presentation. I was really looking forward to it! I was then going to get Katie and take her to MDO and go back to the school for my regularly scheduled time to be there. Needless to say, I won't be doing any of that. MB said she would still watch Katie, and that's very sweet, but I think I'll probably just keep her at home and take advantage of getting to laze around another day. I'm really anxious to see how Chris does with his presentation to all the 1st grade classes and am so proud of him for volunteering to do this. I know Gracie will be beaming to see her daddy "teaching" at school!

Since I knew Gracie would be disappointed about not going to playgroup (which I actually think she forgot about it~*whew*) or going to her friend's house tonight, I let them make a fort using the couch cushions. I'm usually much more uptight about them doing that but I pretty much let them play however they wanted to this morning. I'm sure you can tell by the pictures that pajama day means pajama day hair as well! Can you believe how crazy Katie's is?!?! Gracie & I also played "Hi Ho Cherry-O" (while trying to keep Katie from stealing all the cherries) and they watched part of "Annie." I am so proud of having passed along my love for all things "Annie" to Gracie and Katie is quickly catching on. We were singing "Tomorrow" this morning and Katie (during one of her "up" times) was singing loudly, "....a day awaaaaaay!" We all 3 took naps this afternoon. It was a good day for it.

The ladies day was good. As soon as I walked in the door, I saw Mary, a girl who used to live here in who has since moved. It was soooo good to see someone I could hang out with all day. By the end of the day, the lady she had come with just about acted like we'd known each other forever which was so nice! Of course, I had to pay $50 to go to this ladies day. What?!?! I thought it was free! Oh wait! The ladies day was free. The $50 went to the locksmith who had to get my van open so I could retrieve my keys, purse, cell phone & Bible that were laying on the front seat!

That's right. I locked my keys in the van! I have never done that before. I was trying to rush because I wanted to follow the lady who had parked next to me so I'd know where to go in. (I was nervous because I was going by myself.) I laid everything on the driver's seat and stepped out and turned around to put on my coat. The door closed. Aaaaggghhh! Well, suffice it to say, I got to know the lady who'd parked next to me. She was very nice and got me a phone book and checked to make sure everything turned out okay. I could have called Chris but he was 45 minutes away with the girls~and I had the carseats! Oh well.............

The pictures are precious! We're taking our Santa pictures the 18th and I am so going to get one more "hairbow" year out of Makenna. She may be seven...but she's still my baby girl.

We've got sickness going through our house, too. Both girls are fighting it and driving Mama just a little bit crazy!

Looks like G/K are having tons of fun even on a *sick* day.

I hope everyone is back to 100% around there--really soon!

The pics are gorgeous! So many great ones of both of them!
And I'm so impressed with how clean it is under your couch cushons! Reminds me to vaccuum there next time!
Don't you hate locking your keys in the car! I'm such a scatter brain that I'm constantly worried that any day now I will accidentaly lock Adalie in there somehow.
I'm glad the sickness is over, sounds like you guys are back to having fun!
