Cafe Pink

I love my girls and how they're still little girls. There are times I long for them to be more independent; to be able to leave them home to run to the grocery store, to be able to go out on a date with Chris without having to pay for a babysitter or impose on a friend to watch them, BUT there are also times I want to freeze them where they are.

Gracie, being 10, is starting to be a "tweenager," which is a bit hard for a Mommy to see, while also making me proud, but she also has moments where it's evident that she's not ready to be called that yet, and still is just a little girl in a lot of ways. Katie is at such a fun age and is such a fun child with all of her creativity and spunk. Ellie is so much fun to watch as she toddles around, exploring life and cause & effect. (If I hit my sister, will I really get a spanking?!)

Yesterday, the girls opened "Cafe Pink." I believe I was the first customer, and then Chris had to visit after he got home last night.

Katie was the Maitre 'D, welcoming me to Cafe Pink.

The cafe sign and menu were clearly posted for customers to see. (Click on the pictures to see them better.)

The table was set (the utensils are wrapped in the napkin.)

Gracie provided a bit of lunchtime music.

Katie was the waitress.

I ordered Chicken Fried Steak which you can see on the plate. (The paper on top is the gravy.) Since bread was the only thing on the appetizer section of the menu, I ordered bread for my appetizer. There is 'diet coke' in the cup. I ordered cake for dessert. Of course the other item on the menu for dessert was ice cream sandwich which is what Katie brought me. I told her I ordered cake, and she said, "We don't have cake!" hahahaha Gracie pointed out that we did indeed have cake, and it was right in front of me! I believe the pepper, cucumber, and cheese were items provided to my meal by Ellie!

Ellie was great at refilling my drink.

Tuesday afternoon, I took the girls to our neighborhood water park just before Daddy got home. It offers something fun for all 3 of the girls. Here, they are in the splash pad. Summer is almost over, so we enjoyed taking a spontaneous trip over there while there is no homework looming!

So cute! I miss the days when Hayley (now 16) would play restaurant and school. Your girls are so adorable!
