Disney-Day 2!

Day 2

Epcot!

Note: We purchased the PhotoPass cd which will consist of many pictures of our whole family taken by the Disney World photographers. Once we receive it, I'll load some of those.

Day 2 was spent at Epcot. Epcot wasn't my favorite, I have to be honest. To me, it was more of a museum type place than an amusement park. I would like to go back sometime and try it again; explore the country areas. I just wasn't sure that was something Katie & Ellie would enjoy too much. BUT, don't get me wrong. It's still amazing in a Disney kind of way! :)

When we first got there, Chris went to get Fast Passes for "Soarin'," the ride we had heard so much about. The girls & I followed slower behind him and got some pictures with Daisy.

Ellie wasn't feeling any love towards Daisy that particular morning, so she stayed put.

We went to "Epcot Character Spot" and met many characters. We chose a good time to wait for this attraction. We didn't have long to wait. Later in the afternoon, the line was very long.

Here's Mickey again!

Sweet Minnie!

Donald

We can't forget Goofy!

It rained a little bit while we were at Epcot, so we headed to The Seas with Nemo & Friends which had a couple of neat things. "The Seas with Nemo & Friends" was a neat ride. "Turtle Talk with Crush" was a really funny interactive show. Very neat.

The Land had some neat things too. "Living with the Land" was a neat boatride with lots of interesting information about greenhouses, agriculture, etc. Chris really liked this one. "Soarin'" was a really awesome ride! Ellie was too small, so we did rider swap. The neat thing about this is that I rode with Gracie & Katie (with a fast pass) then 'swapped' with Chris who got to go in the fast pass line with G&K again! So, they got to ride it twice in a row. I seriously thought Gracie was going to cry or throw up while we were waiting; poor thing was so nervous, but she did great and loved it! You sit in a seat and it lifts you up while a huge screen makes you feel like you're hang gliding through fields, over the ocean, and near sky scrapers. It was cool! It was a popular ride. Some people were waiting 70-80 minutes for it. Even with our fast passes, we waited awhile; one of the longer waits.
We ate lunch in "America" at Liberty Inn. We were in the mood for a burger, so we didn't venture into other countries for dining at lunchtime!
Chris & Katie decided to ride "Test Track." Ellie was too small and Gracie had no interest in it. They both loved it! While they were riding, Gracie, Ellie, & I watched "The Circle of Life," a movie with characters from the Lion King and "Journey into Imagination with Figment," a ride about imagination. It was a bit interesting. Kind of odd really. Both of those kept us in the a/c though! :) When they were done with Test Track, they explored an area that is similar to a children's museum, then we headed over to our princess meal!
Our character meal was in Norway. It was "Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall." It was really wonderful! The food was excellent and quite royal! When we first went in, the girls had their picture taken with Belle (I'll have to add it later when we get our Photo Pass picture cd.) We got multiple complimentary copies of the picture-a gift from Belle! :) That was the only character meal where that happened.
The salad was a buffet, but it included turkey, salmon, etc. Not just your typical salad bar. We ordered our entree. I chose salmon, Chris got pork chop, and the girls both got Mickey ravioli! Ellie had pizza.

Each princess signed autographs and took pictures. They came to our table as we ate.
Princess Jasmine

Cinderella was my favorite. She was so sweet.

Snow White
Ariel-she said she liked my red hair! :)

The dessert was brought out family style for us to share. The chocolate mousse was fabulous. The puff pastry was really good too. The "rice cream" was so-so.

All in all, this was a wonderful character meal. Full of class, grace, & good food! The building was beautiful in true Disney fashion!

After dinner, we rode the "Maelstrom," a Viking boat ride. It was neat.
After that, we left Epcot and headed back over to Magic Kingdom! We were very glad we had purchase the "park hopper" option as that allowed to go to us multiple parks in 1 day.
Oops! My little princess isn't acting very lady like, pulling up her shirt! LOL

I love the Mickey face planted with flowers!
As I said in Day 1, I LOVED Main Street. It was just so beautiful!

We went back to Tomorrowland and watched the "Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor." It was cute & funny. I love Monsters, Inc.

Chris, Gracie, & Katie then rode "Astro Orbiter." I stayed with Ellie. They said she could ride, but we didn't really want her to. After I rode it later in the week, I was glad she didn't. That is probably the 1 ride I wouldn't ride again. I did not like it at all. They were having a dance party, so we watched part of that.

I also walked around and tried to get some pictures of the castle lit up. The pictures I took don't do it justice. It was really beautiful! People were lined up waiting for the parade to start. We hadn't thought far enough ahead to get a good spot for that, so we walked around some & sat in Liberty Square where we caught a tiny glimpse of it and then saw the fireworks. Gracie said she had waited her whole life to see them! What we saw that night was only a small portion of wonderful compared to later in the week when we waited for a good spot to watch them!
The girls are watching the parade & fireworks from up high.

Day 3 to come..............

I might get a gauzy skirt for myself, just because I love theirs so much! It all looks like so much fun!

You are really making me "homesick for Disney World"... Growing up, we went almost every other year. We've only been three times in the past 13 years.

By the way, I love Katie's skirt! So cute and princess-y, where did you get it?
